Go the distance in workout wear designed to keep you cool during every training session. Choose from a wide variety of styles and colors of workout shorts and pants.
When it comes to sports, there are many types of shorts athletes wear, but there are two main styles of boxing shorts that every fighter should own and that he or she should consider part of their primary wardrobe.
In training, workout shorts typically consist of cotton or polyester-cotton blend workout shorts. These are designed to keep you cool and allow for airflow. They mimic the kind of style you would wear in the ring so that you get accustomed to a similar feeling in training. The length and fit may vary from design to design, but their basic function is the same.
Any boxing shorts you wear in the ring should complement your performance. They shouldn’t be too short or too tight in a way that would restrict your movement, but also not so loose or long that they retain extra sweat.
The type of workout shorts you wear in competition should feel natural and comfortable to wear. You should be able to bend easily and move freely. Trunks with a wide waistband, 4”- 5” are ideal because the added elastic will help hold them in place, keeping them from slipping down or over the top of your groin protector. Your boxing shorts should also have a 3” - 4” side slit on the outside of each leg. This also allows for greater flexibility, ability to easily bend, and move freely from side to side.
In all, the right workout shorts combine good looks with great action. When you walk into the gym or step into the ring, you want your boxing trunks to create an impression, but more importantly, help you perform.
